Where is your favorite New England Paddle Destination? Whether in a kayak or Paddleboard, Gloucester offers some of my favorite places to paddle. Paddling out of Lanes Cove, I explored the rocky coast of Halibut point, before looping around toward Annisquam Lighthouse at the mouth of the Annisquam River. Wigwam Point, which sits next to Annisquam Lighthouse, is one of my favorite picnic spots on the North Shore, with an uncrowded sandy beach and a view of the lighthouse and ocean.
Here is a link to the NOAA Chart of the area (p6).

I hope you enjoy photos from my recent paddles in Lanes Cove. Where is your favorite New England put-in? any special beta on parking or conditions? Tag #PaddleBoston on your Gloucester paddling photos.
This is the barricade right at the put in, paddle past it and you’re in open water. There are a few small inlets and beaches, like Wigwam Point that provide sheltered paddling, another reason this is such a nice New England Paddle Destination.
This Pup didn’t love her first time on the Ocean, but full disclosure, she did wear her lifejacket the whole time paddling, we just took it off for her to swim a bit.
