New England Paddle Destination – Lanes Cove, Gloucester

Posted in Kayaks, Paddle Destinations on

Where is your favorite New England Paddle Destination? Whether in a kayak or Paddleboard, Gloucester offers some of my favorite places to paddle. Paddling out of Lanes Cove, I explored the rocky coast of Halibut point, before looping around toward Annisquam Lighthouse at the mouth of the Annisquam River. Wigwam Point, which sits next to Annisquam Lighthouse, is one of my favorite picnic spots on the North Shore, with an uncrowded sandy beach and a view of the lighthouse and ocean.

Here is a link to the NOAA Chart of the area (p6).

Interested in paddling on the ocean? Talk to us about off-site rentals, our Introduction to Sea Kayaking classes, or Navigation classes.

I hope you enjoy photos from my recent paddles in Lanes Cove. Where is your favorite New England put-in? any special beta on parking or conditions? Tag #PaddleBoston on your Gloucester paddling photos.
