Introduction to Stand-Up Paddleboarding
Learn the basics of getting on and off your board and proper paddling and maneuvering techniques in this 90-minute introductory lesson. We start with a dry-land introduction to Stand-Up Paddleboarding that will include a SUP warm-up, proper water safety, and SUP etiquette.
Then we’ll get on the water and learn how to safely get on and off the board. You’ll go from your belly to your feet and cover proper standing technique, paddling technique, turning the board, maneuvering over and through small waves, and more depending on the level of the group.
Our Intro to SUP is perfect for those who have never paddled, SUPped, or surfed before, though anyone who has never received formal SUP instruction will benefit.
We offer our Intro to SUP at our Newton locations: Nahanton Park, and the Historic Boathouse.
We also offer SUP Private Lessons!
Notice for 2020: You are required to wear a mask on land, while getting on and off of your boaard and on the water when distancing is not an option. You can take off your mask while paddling.
